NASW-LA Committees
Chapter Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification (CCNLI)
A mandated NASW committee elected by the membership. Purpose is to identify candidates for elective offices and appointments; develop the slate for annual elections; and to advise the Board of leadership development needs.

Annual Conference Planning Committee
Responsible for the year-round planning of the Annual Conference. Determines dates and site, plans the conference sequence, identifies and invites sponsors and exhibitors, reviews responses to call for proposals, and works with the Chapter Office staff to ensure a well-rounded conference, responsive to needs of the membership.

Membership – Image-Building Committee
Creates and implements plan to recruit and retain members. Identifies and implements strategies to improve the image of social work and social workers in Louisiana. The First Vice-President chairs the Committee.

Chapter Ethics Committee (CEC)
The CEC partners with NASW’s Office of Ethics and Professional Review to address ethics complaints and supports ethical practice through professional review activities, education, and training.

School Social Work Network (SSWN)
Supports school social workers in their efforts to enhance the educational excellence of Louisiana students. Educates school personnel on the role of social workers in the school. Increases awareness among Louisiana families about the array of services available to students. Fosters support and collaboration among public officials, other social service organizations and community groups in addressing the needs of children and their families.

Social Action Committee
Develops an action plan for the Chapter to meet goals and objectives in the area of public policy. Reviews legislation and analyzes for relevance to NASW policy; prioritizes bills for advocacy efforts. Communicates Chapter positions to Louisiana legislators; provides testimony on key pieces of legislation during legislative sessions. Organizes annual Lobby Day during legislative sessions.

Louisiana Political Action for Candidate Election (LA-PACE)
Provides information and education to Chapter members on
political process and political action; oversees a process for review and
endorsement of political candidates; encourages social workers to run for
political office.

Delegate Assembly
The Delegate Assembly is the representative, decision-making body through which NASW members set broad organizational policy, establish program priorities, and develop a collective stance on public and professional issues.
