LA26RM_113: "NASW-LA Shreveport Region Sponsored Workshop" FREE for Members. Topic: Men's Mental Health-The Man Behind Mask. Presented by: Dr. Antwan Butler, LCSW-BACS. Participation in this workshop will: (1) Increase Awareness of Men’s Unique Mental Health Challenges. (2) Equip participants with an understanding of the social, cultural, and personal factors that influence men’s mental well-being, including stigma, societal expectations, and emotional suppression. (3) Identify Signs and Symptoms of Common Mental Health Concerns in Men. (4) Provide tools to recognize early warning signs of depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress in men—both in oneself and others—so that intervention can happen sooner. (5) Promote Healthy Coping Strategies and Emotional Expression Introduce practical techniques for managing stress, processing emotions, and building resilience while breaking the stereotype that vulnerability equals weakness. (6) · Encourage Support-Seeking and Community Engagement. (7) Foster a culture where men feel empowered to seek professional help, engage in supportive relationships, and build peer networks that promote ongoing mental health. 1.00 Clinical CEU hour.
