Define trauma, trauma informed care and recognize the impact of further traumatization on incarcerated individuals. 2. Understand and use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma.  3. Learn Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) techniques to assist clients in practicing self-regulation coping skills for positive self-care.  4. Understand challenges within our system and the differences between other correctional systems regarding trauma informed care.    1.00 General CEU hour.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.

Identify key indicators of human trafficking in school, hospital, and private therapy settings.  2. Describe common systemic, clinical, and trauma-related barriers to identification and engagement.  3. Apply trauma-informed, survivor-centered strategies to reduce barriers to disclosure and engagement.  4.
