2026 NASW-LA Annual Conference

Register Now!    The theme for the 2026 NASW-LA conference is “Forging Connection Fueling Community” and we’ve built a conference platform on sessions that really highlight how our connections make us stronger. This year we’ll kick it all off on Wednesday, March 18 with a Keynote from our Conference Committee Chair, Dr. Justin Guy, titled: “From Roots to Resilience: Forging Generational Healing Over Time,” and a range of plenaries, 1.5 and 3.0 hour sessions, a movie, awards luncheon, social event and opportunities to network and engage with exhibitors will follow. You’ll be able to earn up to 20 CEU’s, and this year we have over 60 total sessions covering clinical, ethics, general, supervision and cultural competency topics. So join us March 18-20, 2026 in Baton Rouge at the Crowne Plaza Hotel for the 2026 NASW-LA conference. From topics as diverse as processing grief and loss, to working with formally incarcerated individuals, and in spaces discussing community organizing to psychedelic assisted treatments, you’ll find that there’s something for everyone at this years conference. Topic: Elderly Protection: A Cross Section of Clinical and Legal Considerations.  Presented by: Angela Chamberlain, Senior Outreach Coordination for Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office, and Keith Weisheit, LCSW-BACS.  This presentation will educate professionals on current scams and other legal matters that could impact the elderly, provide resources to professionals elders are clinically unable to protect themselves, how to approach elders with cognitive decline about decision making and behaviors that can keep them safe from physical, mental, financial, relational manipulation and harm.  1.00  Clinical CEU hours.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.
